Many companies maintain a set(s) of test weights in order to conduct periodic testing on their weighing instruments. All test weights should be re-tested periodically depending on; how they are stored, how often they are used, and the environment they are subjected to. Allometrics will verify or provide calibtration services as needed to help ensure our customer's needs for technical competence and adherence to ISO/IEC 17025.
NIST Verification Services, performed by Allometrics, usual turnaround in two to three business days.
Verification will evidence that Allometrics has tested the weights(s) by means of mass comparison against NIST traceable standards.
NIST Traceable Calibration Services provided by our partner Troemner, usually within a two week turnaround. Allometrics is proud to be an authorized distributor for Troemner, the nation's leading NIST/NVLAP accredited metrology laboratory.
Troemner's goal is provide calibration services second to none. Direct traceability to NIST and strict adherence to good metrology practices provide low statistical uncertainties second only to NIST. They seek NVLAP accreditation for all disciplines to assure customers needs for technical competence and adherence to ISO/IEC 17025.
For over 160 years, Troemner has provided the best in metrology and calibration services. Their world-class facilities include the largest independent metrology laboratory in the world. A controlled-environment laboratory, precise techniques, skilled technicians and modern testing equipment allow Troemner to provide the most rigorous calibration services.
NVLAP- Troemner's laboratories have been built to meet the specifications prescribed and administered through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This program is the National Voluntary Accreditation Program (NVLAP). Troemner is accredited by NVLAP for the specific scope of accreditation under lab code 105013. The NVLAP program was originally established in 1976 as an accrediting body for testing laboratories and was expanded in 1994 to include accreditation for calibration laboratories as well. The mission of NVLAP "is to provide the highest quality accreditation services to it's customers and be recognized nationally and internationally as a "world class" laboratory accreditation program." NVLAP has broad international recognition with other accreditation organizations. NVLAP mutual recognition arrangements include The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), The Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) and The National Cooperation for Laboratory Accreditation (NACLA).
NVLAP accredits laboratories on the basis of their ability to meet certain requirements, such as tight environmental controls and low uncertainties that are defined in the U.S. standard ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 and the international standard ISO/IEC 17025. To obtain and maintain NVLAP accreditation, Troemner must undergo rigorous routine audits. Today, Troemner offers NVLAP accredited mass and pipette calibrations as well as density and magnetic susceptibility determinations.
